Gerrit started playing Wallyball in the 90’s, which led to getting bit by the volleyball bug shortly thereafter. Starting out with only ad hoc coaching and inconsistency of coaching styles, Gerrit soon appreciated the benefits of consistent and good coaching. Throughout the years since then, Gerrit has played in hundreds of tournaments all around the US, in Montreal, Vancouver BC, Amsterdam, and Sydney Australia, including Gold and Silver medals in Vancouver, Montreal, and Paris. Gerrit is a firm believer in having fun while playing, but also in being competitive while on the court.
Over the years, Gerrit has played with teams in every position and tends to be an all-around, versatile player on the court. Gerrit enjoys developing players with increasing specialization as well as helping build versatile, well-rounded players.
