In the interest of welfare and safety of our membership, USA Volleyball is eliminating the sanctioning for all USA Volleyball activities, effective 11:59pm, Friday, March 13th.  This ban on all USA Volleyball sanctioned activities extends through March 31st.  We are monitoring the situation on a daily basis and will provide periodic updates as information becomes more apparent.  Please refer to ( for the latest updated information.

This means any volleyball activity in our region – including practices – will not be covered by USA Volleyball insurance.

Due to ongoing concerns surrounding COVID-19, Columbia Empire Volleyball Association (CEVA) will be suspending all sanctioned tournament play in the region through at least March 22nd.  This decision applies to CEVA Power Leagues, as well club-hosted tournaments sanctioned by CEVA and USA Volleyball, and is subject to extension.

This decision comes following directives issued by USA Volleyball on March 11th, and the orders expected to be issued today by Oregon Governor Kate Brown.

CEVA will evaluate the possibility of rescheduling Power League tournaments and will make more information available by March 31st.  Please continue to check our website for the latest information and understand that changes to the PL calendar will be announced there first.  If a reschedule of Power League is not possible, clubs will receive a pro-rated refund or credit for the tournament missed.

We ask all our members to continue to educate themselves with the latest information on COVID-19.  Club directors, coaches, and facility owners in particular should make themselves aware of the directives issued by local, state, and national governing agencies regarding large gatherings and non-essential activities.  Clubs who choose to hold practices during this time should ensure their athletes and families are made aware of those directives and recommendations.

As always, we encourage our members to practice good hygiene habits, and to stay home if you’re sick.

The CEVA office will remain open, and our staff will remain as accessible as possible in the coming days and weeks.  Once again, please continue to check our website and social media channels for updates – those will be the first places new information will be announced.
