Dale is a lifelong coach who learned a lot from his parents; who were also volleyball coaches. Dale has coached competitive Women’s JO Gymnastics, All Star Cheer, and volleyball for Youth and Adults over the course of 25+ years of his career. During the high school season, Dale coaches for Lincoln High School as well as being the Cluster Coordinator for West & East Sylvan Middle Schools.
Dale started playing volleyball at a young age and continues to play at a highly competitive level, nationally and internationally. He was trained as an outside hitter but his favorite position is libero. Taking control of the defense on the court is where he feels most comfortable. Dale’s proudest award was not winning the Gold Medal in Paris (2012) but winning the TEAM Sportsmanship Award, especially since he was on the only American team entered.
Dale’s coaching philosophy is to always give positive, constructive feedback while giving athletes quality technical, tactical, and physical training to master fundamentals so they can be and perform their best. Teaching athletes that being the best isn’t as important as doing their best for their team and themselves.
